Hurricanes achieved a last-minute win over Heat

Hobart Hurricanes defeats Brisbane Heat by an astonishing one-run win when Heat pulled off a direct-hit run-out in the final ball. Hurricanes had set the target at an average of 151 runs, Heat needed two runs from the last ball to win but Colin Ingram had another thing in mind when his throw at the stumps took Mark Steketee’s wicket.

Steketee had almost forced a super over but did not dive fast enough and the whole game changed in a manner of seconds. Dawid Malan in the first inning scored 39 off 32 balls which enabled Hurricanes to post 150 for the chase at Gabba which would have been more if Mujeeb Ur Rahman hadn’t bowled in a deadly fashion posting 5-15. Heat was off to a bad start with figures like 8-3, 66-5 until James Bazley took charge with an unbeaten 49 from 31.
