Ian Chappell: Steve Smith should not lead Australia again

Former Australian captain Ian Chappell believes Steve Smith cannot lead Australia again. The five-time World Champions are considering candidates for the national team ahead of the 2021-22 schedule. Tim Paine is the captain of the test squad and Aaron Finch is leading the team in white-ball format. Chappell shared Smith is not the ideal candidate to lead Australia again and it is time to move on forward rather than backward.

Pat Cummins is the unanimous choice to lead the national team both the players would be part of the white-ball tour when Australia would tour West Indies in July.  After that they the team has a busy season ahead of them with the T20 World Cup as well which is scheduled to take place in India from October and go on till November.
