In India vs New Zealand 2022, 1st T20 match, it is being seen that the first T20I between New Zealand and India has been abandoned without even a ball being bowled. The consistent downpour has compelled the match officials to abandon the game without even doing the toss. The second game will take place in Mount Maunganui, where the weather is supposedly suitable. The game is scheduled for Sunday. India will receive three ODIs apart from the T20Is as part of their tour of New Zealand. Both teams are participating in the match following their departure from the semifinal stage of the T20 World Cup in Australia.
"Boys were quite excited to play. NZ is a great country, a great place to play. Unfortunately, we did not get a game. A lot of people came quite early as well, we were excited but this is something we as professional cricketers need to accept," skipper Pandya commented on the whole situation.
