India beat Afghanistan by 8 wickets

Before Rohit Sharma's quick-fire century gave India to a crushing eight-wicket victory against Afghanistan in their second ICC World Cup 2023 encounter, Jasprit Bumrah returned with statistics of 4-39. 

India comfortably scored the winning runs while chasing 273 with just two wickets lost and 90 balls remaining. With a flawless 156-run partnership, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan handed the hosts a head start. By crushing the Afghan bowlers in the opening partnership, Sharma dominated the match and quickly reached his century in just 63 balls. Ishan Kishan, who struck a run-a-ball 47 with the assistance of five boundaries and two sixes, was subsequently dismissed by Afghanistan's ace spinner Rashid Khan in the 19th over, giving the team something to celebrate. After Virat Kohli joined Sharma at the crease, the pair added 49 runs to the score together.
