India failed to recognize Ashwin- Gautam Gambhir

Though many Indian fans may not be aware of it, Gautam Gambhir and Ravichandran Ashwin have a long-standing bond. The batter captained the spin legend during the latter's maiden complete ODI series while wearing India colors. Under Suresh Raina's captaincy, Ashwin made his ODI debut on June 5, 2010, in Harare against Sri Lanka. During a conversation on a podcast that the legendary spinner himself hosted, Gambhir praised Ashwin for his accomplishments but also conveyed his dissatisfaction over India's failure to fully use his batsmanship.

Test cricket is where Ashwin's bat skills have been most evident; in addition to his 36 five-wicket hauls, he has five centuries there. With an average of 26.26 and 3309 Test runs, Ashwin has amassed 14 half-centuries. However, in limited overs cricket, this hasn't been the case.
