India resumed its Day 1 innings of the 2nd test series against England at the Lord’s adding only 88 runs to the overnight score of 276 losing seven wickets and marking the innings end. The English were not charged up to release their batting squad to chase the 364 run target. With skippers Joe Root and Rory Burns doing majoring of the works at the start of England’s innings, the early setbacks were compensated with the respective 48 and 49 run contribution to the 119 total following Dom Sibley (11) and Haseeb Hameed (0) dismissal on Day 2 for the team.
Mohammed Siraj (2/34) was a starting luck to India in the 15th over before the Root-Burns duo triggered the resurrection. Not long the duo lasted when Mohammed Shami took down Burns in the 22nd over missing his fifty. Finally, Root ended the day with Jonny Bairstow in a no-loss rest of 45 overs.
