Following KL Rahul's injury-related withdrawal from the series, Sarfaraz received his much-overdue Test return, while KS Bharat's subpar batting performance may allow Jurel to play. Virat Kohli will miss the entire series in the meanwhile, but there is good news: Ravindra Jadeja has been allowed to play in the Rajkot test after missing the Vizag Test due to injury.
