Day 1 of India’s test series against England ended in the former’s 276 for 3 at Lord's. The openers were certainly the major contributor to the Indian total with KL Rahul being unbeatable with a huge 127 in 248 balls including 12 fours plus one six boundary tally while Rohit Sharma was no less scoring 83 runs with 11 fours and one six. Further the 117-run Rahul- Viral Kohli partnership added to the innings with the latter’s 42 run total.
Ajinkya Rahane followed Kohli after his fall in the final session by Ollie Robinson following Rohit by England’s James Anderson. With Cheteshwar Pujara’s failure for the Indian side in place, the day ended with Sam Curran bowling the 90th over for the Men in Blue.
