Rain washed out the first day of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship 2021 in Southampton. The most awaited final match could not start on time as heavy rains forced the team to delay the match by one day. Thus the reserve day would now serve as Day 5 of the match if no result is declared before that, as the teams hope that the rain would not stop play for the next five days.
Indian fielding coach R Sridhar shared Team India’s lineup would not change but New Zealand’s final XI would not be confirmed till the toss. India is confident they would be able to put up a challenge for the Mace no matter the weather conditions. Sridhar believes Indian teams is quite experienced and would be able to take on Kane Williamson’s team on Saturday.
