India enjoys a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series with Sri Lanka but faces an Injury blow that could hurt their chances of securing a series win in the next match. Indian opener Ruturaj Gaikwad is ruled out of the upcoming match with a wrist injury and BCCI has announced Mayank Agarwal to take his place in the remaining two T20 Internationals against the visitors.
The 25-year-old will travel back to National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further consultation and rehabilitation of his injury. India was already dealt with two injury blows before the Sri Lanka T20I series commenced when Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar suffered a fractured wrist and hamstring injury respectively to be rested for the Sri Lanka series.
