The mini-auctions for the IPL, Indian Premier League 2021, saw the offering of big amounts being offered to the players from New Zealand and Australia. Kyle Jamieson was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore as the second most-expensive payer for INR 15 crores, while the most expensively purchased is Chris Morris, a South African player purchased for INR 16.25 crores by Rajasthan Royals. The biggest Australian buys at the auction included Glenn Maxwell and Jhye Richardson for INR 14.25 crore and INR 14 crore respectively. Also, some more players were bought by other teams from these two countries.
Jamieson was taken because of his distinguished wicket-taking and having a strike rate of 15.9, and Richardson was taken because he was the leading wicket-taker in the Big Bash League while Maxwell had an unpleasant record in IPL 2020.
