500 spectators at Bready in Co Tyrone on Wednesday afternoon cheered for the home team who won the match to lead 2-1 in the T20 Internationals’ five-match series beating Zimbabwe. Paul Stirling’s powerful maiden T20 century played a vital role in the team victory. Beating his previous best 95 against the Windies, Ireland’s debutant opener overperformed hitting eight sixes and eight fours to total an unbeatable 115.
Ireland’s total of 178 for two recorded as the highest outside of Malahide giving the fans an eye-candy experience who love the big-hitting. Stirling and Kevin O’Brien’s 33 run partnership for 6 overs ended with the latter falling to a mid-off from the penultimate ball. Andrew Balbirnie supported Stirling well along with six and three fours and Shane Getkate’s three boundaries aided the momentum. While Adair starred in the bowlers, Little, White and Getkate shared two wickets each. Mark Adair and Josh Little replaced Craig Young and Barry McCarthy.
