Ireland takes 1-0 lead beating South Africa in the 2nd ODI

The 2nd ODI of Ireland vs South Africa was much brighter compared to the rain-drenched first. Ireland made the most of the opportunity to beat South Africa by 43 runs and take the lead in the series. The Irish squad was impressive indeed, placing their highest against South Africa, 290, as a target which the latter couldn’t chase and was bowled to drop at 247. Talking about defeating a top-five team for the fourth time now, Captain Andrew Balbirnie credited his team’s efforts and expressed gratitude for the victory.

Harry Tector was eye-catching in the Irish side, playing his 12th ODI to score 68-ball 79, contributing largely to a huge total for the team. Harry proved to be the perfect No. 4 following Holland’s best impression. South Africa responded to the defeat with Captain Temba Bavuma, saying they would strike back with a better lineup.
