Jasprit Bumrah has opted out of the race to be India's Test team captain

According to a report from Sky Sports, Jasprit Bumrah has decided to withdraw from consideration for the position of captain of India's Test squad. Since Rohit Sharma declared his retirement from Test cricket, Bumrah has been one of the names being suggested for the position. According to a report from Sky Sports, India's top bowler Jasprit Bumrah has ruled himself out of the running to be the country's next Test skipper. According to the report, following Rohit Sharma's retirement, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant are currently the front-runners for the position.

The Sky Sports report claims that Bumrah has disqualified himself from the leadership contest because he is unable to dedicate himself to playing all five Test matches during the England trip because of workload management. Due to a back ailment sustained at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year, Bumrah was unable to participate in the Champions Trophy.
