Jonny Bairstow set to miss the first T20I against SA

England’s middle-order batter Jonny Bairstow would miss the upcoming T20I match with the side after he injured his left knee during the training session. The first T20 International match against SA is scheduled for Wednesday but no official notice has been issued by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) yet on the matter. Bairstow left the training ground with ice packs and a strapped left knee which places him in the doubtful category from the looks of it.

Since the two T20Is would be played back to back against Proteas it won't be a surprise if Bairstow is missing from the XI in the first match. Bairstow is an important part of England’s squad, he even hit four hundred in his previous five innings which powered the comeback of England in red-ball cricket.
