A big blow for the Rajasthan-based franchise as Jos Buttler withdraws from the rescheduled tournament starting 19 September. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by the franchise on Saturday. The news was confirmed through Royal’s Twitter handle, tweeting: "Jos Buttler will not be part of the remainder of #IPL2021, as he and Louise are expecting a second child soon. We wish them well, and can't wait for the newest member of the #RoyalsFamily."
All the English and Australians were given a green signal to participate in the IPL by the respective national cricket board. Buttler’s fellow Englishman Eoin Morgan confirmed on his return to captain Kolkata Knight Riders. The IPL was postponed back in May due to the spread of the Covid virus inside the tournament’s Bio-bubble. The second wave in the country was another reason behind the tournament’s postponement.
