Kane Williamson might recover in time for IPL 2022

Kane Williamson suffers from a long-standing elbow problem which is acting up again and poses a problem for the upcoming IPL 2022. The 31-year-old has opted against a medical procedure for a long-standing elbow injury and is rather going through recovery now after being sidelined from the ODI series at home against Bangladesh and will miss the approaching Test series against South Africa also.

In spite of his health conditions, Williamson was retained by Sunrisers for INR 14 crore. Williamson said that he had initially intended to get back to activity for the Test series at home against South Africa, which starts from February 17, however, the sluggish recuperation has deferred his rebound. Williamson has even got in touch with players like Sachin Tendulkar, Steven Smith and ex IPL team-mate Manish Pandey who have nursed an elbow injury in the past to fast track his recovery period.
