With Kieron Pollard absent, West Indies would rely on Nicholas Pooran to lead the T20I squad against Pakistan and Shai Hope will be the captain in the ODIs. Taking a leave from the Pakistan tour owing to the hamstring injury, the 34-year-old would need some time to get back into action.
To make up for the loss of Pollard, WI has also added Devon Thomas and Rovman Powell into the ODI and T20I squad respectively as his replacement. West Indies star would undergo treatment for the injury and hopes to return to fitness before Ireland and England series. WI would reach Pakistan on December 9 and play three ODIs and as many T20Is as possible for both the teams to play at Karachi’s National Stadium – from December 13 to 22.
