KKR crushing win as CSK slump to fifth straight defeat

For the first time in their illustrious Indian Premier League history, the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings lost three straight games at their beloved home field of Chepauk, falling to the Kolkata Knight Riders by an embarrassing eight wickets on Friday.

The five-time winners put on yet another poor batting display as they lost for the fifth game in a row this season after being thoroughly destroyed by a ruthless KKR team. The underwhelming performance occurred during a game in which the squad was captained by the famous Dhoni after regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was out for the rest of the IPL due to injury. Dhoni was removed in the sixteenth over after scoring only one run off of four balls. Invited to bat, a completely disoriented CSK could manage only a paltry 103 for nine, their lowest total at Chepauk, as KKR dished out a clinical bowling show.
