Kolkata Knight Riders gave opponents Mumbai Indians a third successive loss

Pat Cummins equalled the record for the fastest half-century in the 2022 IPL season off 14 balls. With this, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Mumbai Indians, making it their third successive loss. Cummins claimed 35 runs in fast bowler Daniel Sams' 16th over giving Kolkata a 162-5 victory on Thursday. Cummins was on fire as he shot six sixes, four in Sams' over while hitting four boundaries in his unbeaten knock of 56 off 15 balls. He managed to equal the older IPL record of the fastest half-century hit by Lokesh Rahul.

Back then in the Indian Premier League 2018 season, Rahul had scored a 14-ball half-century against Delhi Capitals. Cummins said that he was more surprised and the game just came off. Also, he wasn’t trying to overthink and that was satisfying.
