After a lukewarm batting performance, Kings XI Punjab valiantly defended 127 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The contest was steadying on a knife's edge. It is because SRH needed 14 runs in the final over by Arshdeep Singh. However, SunRisers Hyderabad was not able to get any nuggety blows. It made them lose three wickets in that over and fall 12 runs short.
Nonetheless, Sunrisers lost their track after making 56 runs by Jonny Bairstow and David Warner. Apart from Singh (3/23), Ravi Bishnoi, the rapidly evolving KXIP leg spinner was extremely impressive, returning figures of 1/13. The two were supported by Chris Jordan (3/17). He was the one who bowled an excellent ensuing over conceding three runs.
