Lockie Ferguson has been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy

Due to a foot injury, Lockie Ferguson, a fast bowler from New Zealand, will not be participating in the ICC Champions Trophy. His successor, Kyle Jamieson, has been called up. In an unofficial warm-up match against Afghanistan in Karachi on Sunday, Ferguson, who missed the tri-series and sustained a hamstring injury during the International League T20, complained of soreness in his right foot when bowling.

"An initial medical assessment indicated he would not be fit enough to take part in the entire tournament," a press release from New Zealand Cricket stated. "Given the proximity to the start of the Champions Trophy and the short nature of the tournament, the decision was made to send Ferguson home to begin rehabilitation," the announcement said. Ferguson's recovery timeline remains uncertain, raising questions about his availability for IPL 2025.
