Mark Boucher: new head coach of the Mumbai Indians?

The club recently changed its coaching structure, and that was followed by the hiring of support staff. Zaheer Khan, who was the director of cricket operations up until the end of the previous season, has been elevated to the post of global head of cricket development, taking the place of Mahela Jayawardene, who has served as the head coach of the Mumbai Indians since 2017. There has been much discussion about who would take over as coach of the IPL squad since Jayawardene started in his new role of supervising the coaching staff, and Boucher could be the best choice. 

On Monday, Boucher unexpectedly announced his resignation as head coach of South Africa, effective following South Africa's participation in the next T20 World Cup in Australia. The Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers were two of the teams for which he had played.
