McGrath: Australia needs to build on intent

Australia heads into the third test match with India with a questionable lineup. Australia has been so far curtailed to just 191, 195, and 200 runs by the Indian bowler and is currently tied in the series by 1-1. Glenn McGrath believes Australia needs to bat with intent if they wish to win against India. New Zealand has recently leapfrogged both Australia and India in ICC World Test ranking to top the charts with their 2-0 win over Pakistan.

Australia needs a more focused approach against bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin. India’s lineup is already buoyed by the presence of Rohit Sharma who returns to Test matches after a year. At the end of Day one Australia was restricted to 166 for 2 in 55 overs with Marnus Labuschagne at 67 and Steve Smith at 31 not out and Navdeep Saini and Mohammed Siraj picking up one wicket each.
