The Big Bash League has their first-ever Indian in the League. Melbourne Renegades has signed Former Indian U-19 captain Unmukt Chand in the squad for the Australian league that is about to kick off in a month. While many Indian women players have been part of the Women's Big Bash League no Indian male has been part of the competition before.
Chand can sign up for the BBL as he had quit Indian cricket last year and pursue opportunities in America after being relocated to San Francisco Bay Area. The 28-year-old took part in the US's Minor League Cricket T20 competition to play for Silicon Valley Strikers and scored a total of 612 runs calling the attention of Renegades to take part in the competition.
