Michael Vaughan, the erstwhile captain of England has posed a question over Pakistan’s decision of choosing Fawad Alam to play in the second test currently ongoing in Southampton.
The 34 years old Pakistani cricketer who made his comeback in Test after almost 11 long years, let down the stirred expectation of fans with a four- ball duck and lbw by Chris Woakes’s bowling.
Vaughan exclaimed that the picking up of Fawad was very typical of how Pakistanis work, while also pummeling the veteran player’s batting technique.
Cricket Pakistan quoted Michael Vaughan saying, “I don’t understand why they made that decision to bring in a guy who has not played for 11 years and is 34 years of age”. It’s very typical of what Pakistanis do.” Commenting on Alam’s batting technique, he further added, “With that technique, he (Fawad) is basically facing the wrong way when the ball is being delivered.
The first day of the Test ended in rain with Pakistan making 126 runs at a loss of 5 wickets.
