Spinner Mitch Swepson suffered a stress fracture in a neck vertebra and would not be available for the rest of the summer. The Queensland and Australia leg-spinner Mitch suffered the injury during the Brisbane Heat's Big Bash League campaign and the fracture was diagnosed in his C6 vertebrae. As per the test done so far he would be sidelined for six weeks and based on rescans the future would be clearer on how to proceed ahead with the treatment plan.
Medicine manager Martin Love shared his injuries are serious and would need to be carefully managed before the 27-year-old returns to the field. His recovery process would be planned out with Mitch and Cricket Australia. The spinner was part of the test squad for India, he has a track record of 23 wickets and an economy of 21.17 at Sheffield Shield.
