Mumbai Indians ended their free fall down the table with a win against Punjab Kings. MI was struggling as the second last team on the table after back-to-back losses were piling up for the defending champions. With the win, MI is back in contention for a playoff spot despite their struggle.
Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard put up an unbeaten stand of 45 to push the team to a win by successfully chasing 126 runs with an over to spare. It was a big win for MI by six wickets as it lifts the team to fifth place now. On the other hand, Punjab Kings slid down to the sixth position and have a tough team in front of them next, on Wednesday they would take on Royal Challengers Bangalore.
