Gary Kirsten, a prolific run-scorer who amassed 7,289 Test and 6,798 ODI runs across 286 matches for South Africa, brings immense tactical knowledge to Namibia. His extensive coaching background includes leading India to the 2011 World Cup title, guiding South Africa and Pakistan, and securing the 2022 IPL championship with Gujarat Titans.
Regarding this new consultancy position, Kirsten described working with Cricket Namibia as a distinct privilege. He lauded the organization’s dedication to establishing a high-performance environment, pointing to their cutting-edge new stadium facility as evidence of their firm commitment to competing against the world's best teams. Observing that the senior men’s side is currently performing admirably, Kirsten looks forward to assisting the team and refining their preparations for next February's T20 tournament.
