The Netherlands took down Ireland in the decider of their one-day international series on Monday. Ireland put up a target of 163 in the third ODI and the hosts comfortably reached 166-6 to win the match by four wickets and clinch the one-day series. Visitors were first curtailed to 28-3 then Harry Tector and George Dockrell offered some support with 58 and 40 runs respectively.
Soon after the last seven wickets tumbled as well with Fredrick Klaassen and Logan van Beek scalping three each. Netherlands’s Stephan Myburgh and Max O’Dowd then put up a 66 run partnership laying the foundation for an easy chase. Ireland had forced a decider by winning the second match but could not carry over their winning spirit in the third match.
