When the Netherlands travel to Bangladesh later this month for three Twenty20 Internationals, they will play their first bilateral series there. In preparation for the Asia Cup, which starts on September 9, the series will provide Bangladesh with some competitive cricket.
After landing in Dhaka on August 26, the Netherlands will go to Sylhet, where they will train for three days prior to the August 30 first Twenty20 International. On September 1 and 3, Sylhet will host the second and third Twenty20 Internationals. At 6:00 p.m. local time, all three games will get underway. After India postponed their August 17–31 tour to Bangladesh, which was supposed to include three ODIs and three T20Is, the BCB organised the Netherlands series. Before the Asia Cup, Bangladesh had been without international cricket for a month. At first, the BCB and the Nepal board were also in communication.
