New Zealand eased to a seven-wicket win and sealed victory against Bangladesh

Despite an outstanding innings of 169 off 151 balls by opener Soumya Sarkar, Bangladesh's miseries in New Zealand continued as they lost the second ODI in Nelson. This defeat marks their 18th consecutive loss in 50-over matches against the Black Caps in New Zealand. The hosts, led by a strong performance from Henry Nicholls who scored 95 off 99 balls, secured a comfortable victory and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Sarkar's innings, featuring 22 fours and two sixes, propelled Bangladesh to a respectable total of 291 all out. However, it wasn't enough to secure a win as Nicholls anchored New Zealand's reply. The Black Caps' openers reached 76-1 in the first ten overs, with Rachin Ravindra contributing 45 off 33 balls before being dismissed by a brilliant catch from Bangladesh debutant Rishad Hossain. The third and final ODI of the series is scheduled to take place in Napier on Saturday.
