New Zealand crushed West Indies by 13 runs

New Zealand and West Indies faced each other in the 1st match of the T20 International series. The match got interesting when the Black Caps hit 185 for 5 and the opponents managed to make 172 for 7. Evidently, New Zealand claimed victory over West Indies by 13 runs. It looks like West Indies isn't having a good time as they were defeated by Bangladesh and India in the ODI series. 

As for this game, New Zealand was stunning with their performance in the form of a 58-run eighth-wicket partnership between Odean Smith (27 not out) and Romario Shepherd (31 not out). This gave their side a lot of affirmation as they were 114 for 7 in the 16th over itself. Mitchell Santner received the Man of the Match award and said that he was surprised to see so much spin on the deck.
