Former England cricketer Nick Compton was amused when Ravi Ashwin did not receive a single chance in the first four matches of the present Test series. Over the last few Tests, India has used only one spinner, Ravindra Jadeja, in its playing eleven. Despite being India's leading wicket-taker among the current group of bowlers, Ashwin has been forced to sit out.
The fact that Ashwin hasn't played a single Test match on this trip has many people scratching their heads. Compton did not mince words when he stated that Virat has "personal difficulties" with Ashwin, which has forced the latter to sit out. Ashwin was the leading wicket-taker in the inaugural World Test Championship. The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer surpassed Australia's Pat Cummins in the final against New Zealand in June. Ashwin also got a century against the Three Lions in February at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
