Ollie Pope not a part of the second Test squad against India

England batsman Ollie Pope has been left out of the second Test squad against India. Pope was also not part of the rain-ruined first Test which took place at Trent Bridge and resulted in a draw. The second Test has already started and is played at Lords this time. England has won the toss and chose to bowl first. Pope would now be available for the Surrey vs Derbyshire match on Thursday.

Pope has only recently returned to fitness after recovering from a thigh injury he picked up in July but was working hard for England's series opener. But instead England dropped Pope from the lineup, their top three in the order did not contribute later with the best being Sibley’s 28 off 133 balls in the second inning. Pope’s last match was against New Zealand and in his four appearances, he did not score more than 25 runs.
