England’s new shiny squad took out Pakistan for 141 in the first ODI and then later chased down the target with ease. England later won by 9 wickets and had 22 overs to spare as well. Pakistan’s batting order was overly dependent on Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman and England exposed that when the three failed to score, the rest of the batting order was fairly easy to drown.
Pakistan has made certain changes to their middle-order heading into the second ODI as they hope to change the outcome this time. With England’s primary squad under quarantine, their secondary squad led by Ben Stokes was enough to beat Pakistan and boost their ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League standings by grabbing more points. England currently leads with 75 points and Pakistan is right behind them.
