Pakistan sealed their first World Cup past India

Pakistan's cricket captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s unbeaten partnership of 152 was enough to see off India in their first match of the Group 12 of the T20 World Cup. Facing seasoned Indian blowers on the other end, Pakistan’s openers handed India their first defeat in the tournament in a humiliating fashion. The two-man army of Babar posted 68 while Rizwan scored 79 to secure Pakistan’s first-ever world cup win by 10 wickets.

Earlier, Left-arm quick Shaheen Shah Afridi first dismantled India’s top order who struggled to put runs on the scoreboard, but 57 from Kohli provided some relief. After trapping Rohit Sharma in an lbw, Afridi’s attack continued with KL Rahul’s wicket, and later Kohli was also dismissed in the end. India and the 2009 champions are in Group 2 along with New Zealand, Afghanistan, Scotland, and Namibia for the round-robin stage of the tournament, and only the top two progress forward.
