PBKS beat RCB by 5 wickets in Bengaluru

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) suffered their third consecutive home loss. In Friday's rain-shortened 14-over encounter at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Punjab Kings (PBKS) crushed RCB by five wickets. The game began at 9:45 PM IST after a protracted delay, and the Kings didn't give RCB much time to recover. Despite winning all four of their away games, RCB's home performances have been awful, to put it mildly.

After being asked to bat first, RCB found themselves in dire straits, reduced to 42 for seven in just 8.2 overs. Apart from Rajat Patidar, none of their top six batters managed to reach double figures. Arshdeep Singh struck early by dismissing Phil Salt, a wicket that made him the leading wicket-taker for PBKS in IPL history. He then claimed the crucial scalp of Virat Kohli, who was unable to get going.
