The cricket rivalry between Australia and India is best exemplified by the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series. The series has generated great excitement throughout the years with player fights, stunning moments of cricket, and great entertainment value.
And now, in an effort to build even more excitement, CA has chosen to stage a two-game first class series to give junior players an opportunity to compete for the starting lineup. Days before the major five-game Test series, India-A and Australia-A will play two first-class matches at the MCG and Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, from November 7 to 10, and October 31 to November 3, respectively. This was confirmed by CA Head of Cricket Operations and Scheduling, Peter Roach. It appears that the purpose of these matches is to give younger players a chance to compete for a spot in the starting lineup.
