Proteas build towards an advantage on Day 1 of Test 2

South Africa is hosting India for the second test match at the Wanderers, and on the first day itself on Monday, the team’s destructive bowling saw India being bowled out at 202. After Marco Jansen’s four for 31 bowling effort South Africa kicked off their first inning on the first day itself and went 35 for one. The team is looking to level the three-match series after India bagged an early lead with the 113 runs win in the first test.

Stand-in captain KL Rahul did his best to offer some support to the team with his 50 and even saw Ravichandran Ashwin come close to a half-century with 46 runs and fall short of a couple of runs. Both the players fell victim to Jansen’s clever bowling tactics on the field. South Africa would return with Dean Elgar (11 not out) and Keegan Petersen (14 not out) on the second day.
