Punjab Kings whipped Royal Challengers Bangalore by 54 runs in the Indian Premier League match on Friday following crackling thumps by Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow. Kings were placed in to bat and amassed a difficult total of 209 for nine of every 20 overs after Bairstow and Livingstone scored energetic fifties against a floundering bowling squad of Bangalore in Mumbai. Bairstow hit a 21-ball 50 before Mohammed Siraj clinched his wicket and later Livingstone assumed the responsibility and scored a 42-ball 70 run thump.
Captain Mayank Agarwal attempted to speed up the score however tumbled to Harshal Patel at 19. Patel was the top wicket-taker for Bangalore and got back with figures of 4 for 34. Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli opened the innings for the group yet couldn't leave an imprint with their bats.
