Rain denies the defending champions, KKR and PBKS share a point

Rain caused this Indian Premier League season's first no-result in Kolkata on Saturday, leaving defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings tied at one point each. After around ninety minutes, authorities decided to call off the match at Eden Gardens because Kolkata, who were chasing 202 to win, were 1-7 when rain interrupted play.
