Just a few days before the Indian Premier League match is set to kick off Mahendra Singh Dhoni has taken a step back from the captaincy role at the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise and has handed over the baton to Ravindra Jadeja who has been groomed over the years to lead the side in the IPL 2022.
The chennai-based franchise has officially announced the change recently which even took the CSK fans by surprise as Dhoni has been the face of the franchise ever since IPL kicked off. Mahi has led the Yellow Brigade to four titles in IPL which includes the 2021 title as well. The wicketkeeper-batsman enjoys a rich history at the franchise, having captained 204 matches and enjoying a win percentage of 59.60 per cent. It would be a difficult role for Jadeja to fulfil.
