RCB player Josh Philippe would not play in IPL 2021

Australia’s Young wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Philippe has pulled out of the upcoming IPL season in 2021 and RCB had retained the player this year itself. He made his international debut for Australia against New Zealand last month itself and featured in the Red jersey with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2020 where he was bought by the team for a base price of Rs 20 lakh in the auction last year.

With the team, he appeared in five matches and scored a total of 78 runs for the franchise. RCB had reached the playoff stage last season which was held in UAE and Philippe had played his part and hence was retained by the team for 2021. His reason remains unclear but New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Finn Allen would serve as his replacement this season.
