RCB: Faf du Plessis takes over from Virat Kohli as captain

Faf du Plessis was chosen captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the upcoming Indian Premier League season on Saturday (IPL) after Virat Kohli stood down at the end of the previous season. His decision to resign as the franchise's captain came just days after he resigned as India's T20I captain ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.

Du Plessis, who played for Chennai Super Kings until last year, was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs. 7 crores in the big auction earlier this month to replace Virat. Prathmesh Mishra, the team's chairman, and Mike Hesson, the director of cricket operations, presented him with the cap.
