Ponting’s tenure with the Delhi Capitals concluded in July after seven years. The Australian cricketing legend cited his inability to commit to a longer stay in India due to other professional obligations as the primary reason for his departure.

Despite leaving Delhi Capitals, Ponting expressed a strong desire to return to coaching in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In a recent episode of The ICC Review, he affirmed his interest in exploring new coaching opportunities within the league, acknowledging his ambition to secure a position that could potentially lead to a title win, a goal he fell short of with the Capitals.
