Rizwan defended Babar, citing pressure from 'extreme expectations.'

Mohammad Rizwan, the captain of Pakistan, sprang to Azam's support, denying that the great batsman is experiencing a slump in his international career. Babar has been under strain because of "extreme expectations" from his own achievement, Rizwan remarked on the eve of the ODI tri-series final against New Zealand in Karachi. Babar Azam has finding it difficult to score huge runs as frequently as he once did, while Mohammad Rizwan reached his best form ahead of the Champions Trophy with a match-winning hundred in Pakistan's record chase against South Africa on Wednesday.

When Saim Ayub was injured, the former captain was asked to start the batting in the ODI tri-series, but he hasn't been able to get going in the first two games. In the opening match of the ODI tri-series against New Zealand at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Babar was removed for 10 from 23 balls.
