Alex Ross and Sam Billings lead Sydney Thunder to chase the target of 141 runs with Ross hitting a knock of 61 runs and Billings was a few runs shy of a half-century. Thunder took down Brisbane Heat by seven wickets in their opening match of Big Bash League.
Thunder’s slipped in their chase at first when they slumped to 3 for 32 at Manuka Oval. Alex Ross and Sam Billings then posted an unbeaten run of 109 and brought the team back after Alex Hales was dismissed off the second ball. Thunders relied on Billings support as the team claimed a win with 17 balls to spare. While Daniel Sams and Gurinder Sandhu, scalped five wickets as they left Heat limping 2 for 20 in the first four overs dismissing Max Bryant and Chris Lynn cheaply.
