IPL 2021 is due to kick off soon in September and the first time glory chasers Royal Challengers Bangalore have had a setback already. RCB’s all-rounder Washington Sundar would miss out on the second half of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League after he picked up a finger injury. Washington was injured when he was playing a side game for India before the first Test itself. Returning to India for rehabilitation and rest, his absence would hurt Virat Kohli led team’s chances of winning their maiden title this year.
In the past, he has performed well taking down imposing batters in the powerplay segment itself but now that task would fall on other off-spinners. RCB is third as per the points table and is level on points with Chennai Super Kings who are second with a better net run rate.
