Sanjay Manjrekar appeared surprised by Chahal's inclusion

The Indian cricket team, known as the Men in Blue, is gearing up to face South Africa in a series comprising three T20Is and three ODIs, starting in Durban on Sunday. The ODI squad features four spinners, namely Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Kuldeep Yadav. Sanjay Manjrekar, a former Indian cricketer, expressed contentment with the seam-bowling department but appeared surprised by Chahal's inclusion during a discussion on the Star Sports show 'Game Plan.'

Chahal, a right-arm leg-spinner, boasts an impressive record of 121 wickets in 69 ODI innings with an acceptable economy rate of 5.26. However, he faced exclusion from the 2023 World Cup squad, with Kuldeep Yadav chosen as the preferred wrist-spinner. The series against South Africa presents an opportunity for Chahal to showcase his skills, but competition with Kuldeep adds an element of uncertainty to his playing prospects.
